Loader Operator
Overview:
This is an hourly position reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor. The primary responsibility of this position is tosafelyload material fromstockpiles andmaintainthe plant/yard appropriately.
Responsibilities:- Safelyoperatethe site Loader in moving materials, and ensuring materials areproperly stored.
- Ensure all irrigation systems are operable & appropriately hydrating the various aggregates.
- Ensure plant/yard housekeeping isappropriate toinclude shoveling, sweeping, and washing down the yardfrequently.
- Ensure allappropriate EPAguidelines are followed and yard up toappropriate regulatorystandards.
- Assist Plant Supervisor with monthly inventory.
- With direction from Plant Supervisor, coordinate the traffic flow of the yard.
- Ensure haulers are placing materials inappropriate areas.
- Ensure haulers arerenderingtickets in the batch house.
- Assistmaintenance team with plant repairs.
- Must be able to travel within delivery area to other plant locations.
- Ensure plant bins are fully loadedwithappropriate materialsduring batching hours of operation.
- Properlymaintainthe loader, i.e., grease all fittings, keep fuel level full, perform daily mechanical inspections, report issues.
- Ability to perform other duties asrequired.
- Valid CDL license
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Construction industry experiencerequired.
- Ability to work night shifts,overtime,and weekends.
- Basic understanding of windows-based operations /computer skills.
- Must havedemonstratedthe ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of concrete characteristicsand production.
- Must havedemonstratedsafe operation ofMixer Truck and Loader.
- Knowledge of proper material handling practices.
- Previousexperience inready-mix industry is preferred.
- Must havedemonstratedthe ability to be coachable by Plant Supervisor and Area Supervisor.
- Must haveabilityto further progress to Batch Operator.
- Must be physically capable of performing strenuous manual laborincluding:bending, lifting,climbing at heightsof 60-80feet,walking on catwalks,stretching, driving/steering, sitting, twisting, vibration, and riding & walking on rough terrain.Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.and occasionallylift upto 100 pounds.
- Must be English proficient, both oral and written.

- The loader position should be a back-up to the plant Batch Operator.Various skills must be obtained based upon list below:
- Begin Batch Operator training within 6 months
- Full Batch Operator skillsattainedwithin 1styear.
- FDOT certification within 1styear
- Demonstrate general mechanical aptitude for workings of the plant within 1styear.
