What you'll do:

We areseekinga highly skilled Network Engineer todelivernetworkandon-premoperational readinessfor new and existingfacilities,sitesand data centers.This role will manage endtoend infrastructure implementation includingrouting, switching, wireless, circuits, cabling, and onsite vendor coordination. The ideal candidate combines strong networkingexperiencewith practicallayer 1knowledge of cabling, building infrastructure, fiber plants, racks, patch panels, powerand general IT infrastructure. This role requires excellent management, communication skills, and the ability to deliver reliable office networks that meet performance, security, and scalability needs.

This is a sitebased role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard fiveday workweek.

The day-to-day:
  • Manage end-to-end hardwareprocurement, inventory,configuration, and deployment for office buildouts and expansions.
  • Participate inITinfrastructurecoordination with otherbusinessorganizationsforspecificphases oftheprojects including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Oversee cabling vendors, lowvoltage contractors, and ISPs to ensure highquality andtimelydelivery of services.
  • Implement and support network technologies including switching, routing, wireless,andfirewalls.
  • Validate circuit delivery, test network performance, and ensure readiness for production use.
  • Maintain documentation including network diagrams, IP schemas, and infrastructure standards.
  • Work within the network team andcrossfunctionalteams toensure cohesive project execution.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues and provide ongoing operational support.
What you'll need:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
  • Excellent understanding of Layer 1 and cablingincluding copper and fiber extensions, ISP handoffs, dark fiber plants, cross connections,UPSand PDUs.
  • Strongproficiencywith routing and switching (e.g.,Juniper Mist,Palo Alto,etc.).
  • Experience deploying and supportingwired andwireless networks in office environments.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPN, and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience working with ISPs and managing circuit delivery (fiber, MPLS, broadband, etc.).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure compute platforms (Windows, Linux, virtualization technologies).
  • Ability to read and interpret structured cabling diagrams and construction documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent project coordination and vendormanagement capabilities.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50%.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g.,JCNIA, PCNSA,CCNA,etc).
  • Familiarity withIPSEC VPN, Palo Alto SCM, Juniper Mist andNaaS.
  • Background supporting conference room AV systems or office hardware systems.
  • Full-time onsite on the Carlsbad, CA campus
  • Ability to travel to office sites for deployments as needed, up to 50% travel required.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments during deployment phases.
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work during cutovers or critical events.
