SMT Operator
Position Overview
The Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator is responsible for supporting PCB assembly operations by loading materials, setting up and operating SMT equipment, monitoring production performance, and ensuring product quality. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate SMT pick-and-place machines

Set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic stencil printers

Operate reflow ovens for mass soldering processes

Load materials and monitor machine performance during production

Perform manual component placement as needed

Conduct detailed visual inspection of PCBs to ensure quality standards are met

Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting

Operate equipment such as Hitachi, ASM, GSM, MPM, and DEK machines (training provided)
Qualifications
Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Experience
-
12 years of experience operating SMT equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
-
Language
-
English proficiency required
-
Mandarin proficiency is a plus

Technical Skills
-
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ESD standards, SPC, and IPC-A-610
-
Ability to read and interpret process documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly drawings

Strong component identification skills
-
Good organizational skills with the ability to track and count materials accurately

Strong verbal and written communication skills
