EHS Manager Chemical
EHS Manager position with a well-established, specialty chemical manufacturing company in Charlotte. This role is focused on leading all environmental, health, and safety efforts within achemical plant, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and maintaining a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate is a hands on EHS professional with experience in chemical or high-hazard manufacturing who is comfortable owning the function, working directly on the plant floor, and partnering closely with operations leadership.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- 510+ years of EHS experience in a chemical, industrial, or high-hazard manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance regulations
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
- Proven ability to work independently and own the EHS function at a site level
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for the facility
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local environmental and safety regulations
- Maintain and support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses; implement corrective actions as needed
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; perform root cause analysis and drive preventive measures
- Deliver safety training for new hires and existing employees, including proper handling of hazardous materials
- Monitor and track safety metrics, incidents, and environmental data (including spill tracking and reporting)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, audits, and community-related concerns
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including response planning and drills for potential plant incidents
