Electrical Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Minneapolis, MN for a one-year temporary role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electrical Engineer will support the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of complex military equipment for Combat Mission Systems. This role focuses on electrical system design, circuit analysis, schematics, interface documentation, simulations, technical data packages, and integration support for military systems including combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings.
- Ability to create and manage interface control documents.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation using PSpice or LTspice.
- Experience developing technical documentation such as drawings, reports, and technical analysis.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems using professional engineering knowledge.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate data, technical results, and engineering information to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to perform electrical system design under the general direction of a project engineering lead.
- Ability to provide detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.
- No security clearance required.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with military and commercial design standards.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, and LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C#, or LabWindows/CVI.
- Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio.
- Experience with circuit board schematic and layout tools.
- Familiarity with design for components in high-EMI environments.
- Systems engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
- Experience designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.
- Experience integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic.
- Experience developing and integrating power generation, power conversion, and energy storage solutions.
- Experience developing and integrating ammunition handling or loading systems, including autoloaders and large caliber rammer systems.
What You'll Do
- Support development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of complex military equipment.
- Research, plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems and components.
- Develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.
- Use advanced modeling and analysis tools to support electrical design work.
- Perform electrical system design for military systems, including combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.
- Analyze components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.
- Create and manage schematics, interconnect drawings, interface control documents, reports, and technical analysis.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, services, and ability to deliver required products or services.
- Work under the direction of a project engineering lead and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Travel up to 10% as needed.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9/80 schedule.
- Overtime expected as needed.
Pay
- $55.57/hour
