Electronics Fabrication Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Fabrication Technician in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electronics Fabrication Technician will fabricate circuit card assemblies, wiring harnesses, subassemblies, and single- or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for engineering and manufacturing production teams. This role requires hands-on soldering, connector pinning/de-pinning, harness fabrication, blueprint and schematic interpretation, and active Secret clearance at the time of submittal.
Required Skills
- Active Secret clearance required to start.
- 3 years of fabrication experience, including cable and wire harness fabrication, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design products.
- Prior solder and harness certification to MIL-STD requirements.
- Experience placing and soldering components on circuit cards and subassemblies.
- Experience fabricating wiring harnesses, including connector pinning and de-pinning.
- Experience applying mounting hardware.
- Experience building lower-level assemblies into single- or multi-bay cabinet assemblies.
- Experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
- Ability to communicate design, process, and fabrication issues verbally and in writing to management and engineers.
- Experience using software tools and Microsoft products.
- Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and in a team environment.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, fabricators, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
- Safety shoes required.
Preferred Skills
- J-STD-001 solder certification.
- IPC-7711/IPC-7721 certification.
- Experience with procurement and acquisition of test materials.
- Experience interpreting and building to Lockheed Martin test equipment engineering.
- Experience with circuit card assembly, SMT fabrication, wire harness assembly, cable assembly, connector work, cabinet assembly, military electronics, soldering, rework, fabrication documentation, and production support.
What Youll Do
- Place and solder components on circuit cards and subassemblies.
- Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and hardware installation.
- Build lower-level assemblies into single- and multi-bay cabinet assemblies.
- Deliver completed assemblies to engineering or manufacturing production areas.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
- Support fabrication of electrical equipment and military design products.
- Communicate technical issues, process concerns, and design questions to engineers, management, and team members.
- Use software tools and Microsoft products to support fabrication work.
- Work closely with engineers, fabricators, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors.
- Support occasional overtime as needed.
Work Schedule / Shift
- Minimum 40 hours per week.
