Mechanical Engineer Operations Maintenance

Mechanical Engineer opportunity in the Walterboro area for a degreed engineer with 2+ years of experience. In this role you will focus on supporting production operations through equipment troubleshooting (maintenance), reliability improvements, and new equipment layout. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with machinery, diagnosing issues in real time, and implementing process improvement throughout the plant. Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues to minimize production downtime (Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, conveyors, production machinery)
• Experience carrying out preventative maintenance (PMs) initiatives
• Define layout of new equipment, assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of new or modified equipment
• Identify and implement process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency and safety
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and plant procedures
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and improvement efforts

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience, comfortable working on the production floor in a hands-on capacity
• CAD experience is a plus, but not required
