Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support a variety of engineering and construction projects ranging from design-only engagements to full EPC projects. This role will assist Project Managers with project coordination, documentation, contractor management, scheduling, cost tracking, and overall project execution to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.



The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while serving as a key liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.



Key Responsibilities


  • Assist Project Managers on projects of varying size and complexity, while independently managing smaller or less complex projects as assigned.

  • Serve as a coordinator and project liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support global practice and engineering disciplines with overall efforts for Design-only and/or EPC projects.

  • Assist in the development and administration of Request for Proposal (RFP) packages, bid evaluations, contractor selection processes, and scope of work documentation.

  • Manage contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.

  • Verify contractor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.

  • Execute and administer contracts including:

    • Change order management

    • Field change directives

    • Invoice approvals

    • Schedule management



  • Assist with project controls activities including:

    • Cost reporting

    • Scheduling support

    • Work breakdown structure development

    • Project setup and closeout within accounting systems

    • Field progress tracking



  • Support the preparation of internal and external reporting including:

    • Project budgets

    • Cost reports

    • Cash flow forecasts

    • Project status reports



  • Participate in project risk reviews and coordinate with Legal Department as required.

  • Maintain project documentation and support project closeout activities.

  • Promote and uphold company safety standards, policies, and training programs.

  • Support Safety & Health performance initiatives for project team members and subcontractors.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Comply with all company policies and standards.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience supporting engineering, construction, utility, industrial, or EPC projects preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, and contractor coordination.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Knowledge of construction processes, project controls, and contract administration is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.



Preferred Experience


  • Experience supporting utility, power delivery, transmission & distribution, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with EPC project environments.

  • Exposure to project accounting systems and scheduling platforms such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is a plus.
