- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management strategies.
- Lead the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring that project teams are on track to meet milestones.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and other technical staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Translate technical concepts and project status into clear, concise updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain a solid understanding of the project's technical architecture, challenges, and dependencies.
- Work with technical leads to identify and resolve technical roadblocks and challenges.
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Ensure that the final deliverables meet the required quality standards and technical specifications.
- Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular reports on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of direct experience in technical project management, managing software development or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall.
- Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
- Proficiency with project management software, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant project management certifications.
- Experience managing projects in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience in a software development or engineering role prior to moving into project management.
- Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
