Electrical & Controls Engineer
Key Performance Objectives:
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime via root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
- Own electrical/control system projects from concept to completion, meeting timelines, budgets, and performance targets; manage projects up to $50k.
- Lead/support capital improvements enhancing safety, efficiency, automation, and system capability.
- Advance electrical safety through initiatives, NFPA 70E adherence, and compliance with corporate standards/environmental expectations.
- Optimize PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA systems for process stability/throughput; address production gaps with engineered solutions (e.g., water/compressed air systems).
- Mentor junior engineers/electricians to build team troubleshooting capability.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and external resources to align priorities and outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
- Minimum 1 year (3 preferred) control systems engineering experience in continuous/discrete manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications, including programming.
- Basic project management skills.
- Ability to solve projects/basic process engineering problems.
- Collaborative work with internal/external engineering resources.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Drive/initiative to complete tasks and pursue improvements.
- Continuous improvement (CI) on electrical projects.
- Process control experience (e.g., water/compressed air systems).
- Honeywell C300/C200, DeviceNet/ControlNet, industrial networking.
- DCS/SCADA (e.g., Ignition/Wonderware) general understanding.
