JOB DESCRIPTION
Network Analyst (Level 2)
Pay Rate: $40/hr (W2 Only)
Duration: 12 Months
Location: White Plains Office, NY
Business Unit: Information Technology & Cyber Security
Project: Digital Worker Connect
Start Date: Immediate
Work Schedule
- Monday Friday
- 7.5-hour workday + 0.5-hour unpaid lunch
- Paid for actual hours worked
- No paid vacation or sick leave
- Business closed during NYPA and Canals holidays (no work permitted)
- Hybrid schedule required:
- Minimum 3 days on-site (may be fully on-site depending on department needs)
- Hybrid privilege may be revoked at any time
=9 Engagement Requirements (Mandatory)
- Candidates must be local to the Tri-State area
- Must be in W2 tax status as an hourly employee of the Service Provider
- Fully remote work is not permitted
- NYPA does not provide laptops
- Desktop workstations provided on-site
- Remote access from personal equipment required on hybrid days
- Vendors must disclose:
- Foreign national status
- All visa details (if applicable)
- Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure required during onboarding
Project Overview
The IT Network Services team is supporting multiple 2026 digitization initiatives, including:
- Digital Worker Connect (DW Connect) Communications Backbone Project
- Core IT Infrastructure initiatives
- LEM NYPA Cloud Migration
- Upgrade of Operations Turrets & Call Manager
- Wireless technology reviews and site surveys
- Wireless Access Point (WAP) planning and deployment
- Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) implementation
- Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) research and evaluation
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Configuration
- Install hardware/software components and integrate with existing network systems
- Install/repair network cables including fiber optics
- Configure wireless networking equipment
- Install network security/firewall software
- Diagnose and resolve network issues in collaboration with vendors
- Use protocol analyzers and monitoring tools
- Perform performance tuning and corrective action
- Work with networking staff, telecom teams, vendors, contractors, and end-users
- Assist with integration and maintenance of network services
- Maintain documentation of network components, inventory, and maintenance
- Support network applications (monitoring, bandwidth utilization, reporting, automation)
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support Information Services operations
Required Skills
- 510 years of experience as Network Analyst/Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of:
- Network protocols
- Routing & switching
- Firewall configurations
- Experience with monitoring tools:
- SolarWinds
- OpManager
- Splunk
- Familiarity with security frameworks:
- NIST
- CIS
- Experience with ServiceNow (ticketing systems)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- OR minimum 10 years of directly related experience (for non-degree holders)
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- CCNP
- AWS Cloud Practitioner
- F5 201/301
- Other industry-aligned certifications
