Data Architect SAP Data & Analytics

Duration: Permanent/Direct Hire
Compensation: $150-190k Base + Bonus + Benefits
Location: 100% REMOTE

We are seeking a senior-level Enterprise Data Architect to lead SAP data modernization and cloud data platform architecture initiatives.

This role owns architecture strategy across SAP BW modernization, SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), ECC to S/4HANA migration impact assessment, and cloud lakehouse platforms.

Requirements:

• 18+ years enterprise data architecture experience
• Deep SAP BW and BW/4HANA modernization experience
• Hands-on SAP Datasphere and SAP BDC architecture
• ECC to S/4HANA data migration & extractor remediation
• Strong AWS, Azure, or GCP experience
• Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric integration
• Enterprise-scale architecture ownership

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Modernization

• Lead SAP BW to BW/4HANA transformation
• Architect SAP Datasphere & BDC environments (spaces, semantic layer, integration)
• Define extraction strategy using ODP, CDS, SLT, BODS, APIs
• Assess ECC to S/4HANA data landscape impacts

Cloud & Lakehouse Design

• Design lakehouse / medallion architectures
• Architect SAP + non-SAP ingestion pipelines
• Integrate SAP data into Snowflake, Databricks, or Fabric
• Define CI/CD, orchestration, and automation frameworks

Governance & Security

• Establish lineage, cataloging, auditability
• Implement role-based access, masking, encryption
• Define data quality and observability frameworks

Leadership

• Act as technical authority across enterprise programs
• Partner with EA, business, and delivery teams
• Establish best practices and mentor engineering teams

Preferred Certifications:

• SAP BW/4HANA or Datasphere
• AWS / Azure / GCP Data Architect
• Snowflake or Databricks
