Lead Subsea Power Systems & Design Engineer

Job Summary:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • $10K Sign on Bonus and Relocation Package available.

As an electrical engineer for Undersea Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

  • Power Systems/Module Design.
  • Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
  • Power System architecture and grounding
  • Transmission Line Effects in power systems
  • Magnetics Design

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
  • Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Circuit Design expertise
  • Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
  • Power systems / Module design.
  • Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
  • Feedback/Control systems experience
  • Power System architecture and grounding
  • Isolated Switching Converters
  • Transmission Line Effects in power systems
  • EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc.)
  • Magnetics Design and High-Speed Design experience is desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components.
  • The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
  • Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects.
  • Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

WORKPLACE OPTIONS:

  • This position is fully on-site, OR Hybrid/Flex (only for local).
  • While on-site, you will be a part of the McLeansville NC Design Center.
