Software Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software Engineer in Camarillo, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports EA-18G programs, including Growler Block 1 and Growler Block 2 software development. The Software Engineer will develop embedded real-time system software, support defect resolution, and collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams in an Agile environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field with 2 years of experience, or masters degree in a STEM field with 1 year of experience
- Experience with a higher-order language such as Ada, C/C++, or C#
- Knowledge of object-oriented software development
- Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, or ClearCase
- U.S. citizenship required
- DoD Secret Clearance or higher; interim Secret is acceptable
- Ability to work on-site at Naval Air Warfare Center, Point Mugu and the Camarillo, CA office
Preferred Skills
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Strong collaborative mindset
- Full software lifecycle experience on large-scale formal DoD programs
- Experience programming with Ada
- Experience programming with C++
- Experience with real-time embedded software development
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Electronic Warfare system development and design experience
What Youll Do
- Develop embedded real-time system software
- Work in an Agile environment as part of a scrum team
- Resolve software and system defects
- Collaborate with customers, internal sites, and engineering disciplines
- Participate in peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical interchange meetings
- Use project-dependent tools and technologies including Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORS, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Ada, C/C++, C#, Python, Green Hills Integrity RTOS, Windows, and Linux
