What you will be doing:
Lead the interface between the Chief Engineering team and Product Release Center, Engine Systems, Software, and Controls teams. This role functions as a systems-level engineer with a strong technical background, supporting controller hardware across multiple vehicle programs. This is not a design release role, but requires prior DRE experience and deep understanding of control modules and electromechanical systems.
The Engineer will be responsible for system integration, application, and cross-functional coordination for controller hardware, with a focus on issue resolution, requirements development, and program execution support.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as controller hardware system owner at the application and integration level
Support multiple controller types including:
Engine Control Modules (ECM).
Electrified Vehicle Control Units (EVCU).
Transmission Control Modules (TCM/DTCM limited scope).
Serve as primary interface across:
Design Release Engineers (DREs), COEs, SW/Controls teams, suppliers, validation teams, and program teams.
Lead/support system-level issue resolution, including CQI and GIMS/S2IRRIUS activities
Support requirements development, PSK reporting, and program execution tracking
Coordinate electrical and communication integration across modules (CAN, EE architecture)
Review DRE design proposals and support system/interface DFMEA and DRBFM reviews
Support validation reviews (DRBTRs, DVC updates) and manage follow-up actions
Contribute to cost and timing inputs for new programs, minor changes, and MCAs
Support technical cost reduction and value optimization initiatives
Maintain and manage lessons learned documentation and ensure alignment with technical standards
Coordinate cross-functional teams to track action plans and ensure program milestones are met.

What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering field (Mechanical, Mechatronics acceptable with relevant experience).
- 510 years of experience in automotive engineering.
- Prior DRE experience (required as background, not role function).
- Strong experience with control modules / controller hardware systems.
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems, sensors, and actuators.
- Experience with CAN communication protocols and EE architecture.
- Familiarity with automotive development processes (DFMEA, validation, issue resolution).
- Experience with software calibration or controls integration.
- Systems engineering or technical project leadership experience.
- Experience supporting multi-domain integration (hardware + software).
- Master's degree (nice-to-have, not required) .
