Digital Factory updates and 3D body weld modeling for Body production lines using Delmia/Catia.
Team supports automotive body production lines and robotic welding initiatives.
2+ years professional experience in a similar engineering/manufacturing role. (1 3 years acceptable if experience is relevant and hands-on)
Prior manufacturing environment experience required.
Automotive experience preferred, especially body/BIW or welding-related work.
Will study Z1/Z2 welding processes for feasibility.
Will estimate robotic welding cycle times.
Will create 3D concepts for welding equipment and EOAT.
Travel up to 10% (Mexico & Canada), No international travel.
Nice to have someone with Laser scanning experience, Robotic welding (spot or arc) and robotic material handling, Offline robot teaching or offline data preparation.

What we re looking for:
The Engineer within SE Robot Team will support and lead digital factory initiatives related to robotic welding and manufacturing operations. The role involves developing 3D concepts, supporting offline and onsite robot teaching, and collaborating with engineering teams on body weld model changes.
The position may require up to 10% of travel; however, no travel is currently planned. There is no international travel. Steel toe boots are required.
What you ll be doing:
Support and lead digital factory updates using Delmia C3, AutoCAD, and MS Office tools.
Evaluate Z1 and Z2 welding processes for feasibility.
Estimate cycle times for robotic welding processes.
Develop 3D concept models for welding equipment and end-of-arm tooling.
Work with multiple data formats to develop robotic welding strategies.
Perform offline robot teaching using digital engineering software.
Support engineering teams with body weld model change activities.
Create documentation to support both offline and onsite robot teaching activities.
Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves):
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar role or field
Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent work experience
Experience in manufacturing and/or robotics
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
Experience with 3D design software (e.g., CATIA, DELMIA, SOLIDWORKS)
Bonus if you have (Preferred):
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with MS SharePoint
VB or VBA programming experience
Experience with automated robotic welding (spot or arc) and robotic material handling, including robot teaching or offline data preparation
Experience with laser scanning
3D modeling experience transferable to mechanical manufacturing environments
Robotic welding experience within the automotive industry
