Pay Rate: $65/hour
Location: Onsite Jersey City, NJ
The Citrix Infrastructure Engineer owns and supports key components of the organization's global end-user computing and application delivery platforms. This role serves as a senior technical expert and escalation point for complex or business-critical issues.
The engineer plays a leading role in delivering global IT initiatives, including platform modernization, cloud adoption, and automation. Responsibilities include defining technical standards, architecture patterns, operational processes, and documentation to ensure secure, scalable, and stable services.
This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Architecture, Security, Cloud, and Network teams, as well as effective vendor management. The role also includes full lifecycle management of a large-scale Citrix environment, including Citrix Cloud services and hybrid integrations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Ownership & Support- Own and support Citrix infrastructure across global data centers and cloud environments
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex incidents and major outages
- Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support as required
- Design, deploy, and manage Citrix Cloud services, including control plane and resource locations
- Support Citrix workloads across on-premises and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)
- Lead platform modernization, cloud adoption, and automation initiatives
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve alerts and incidents
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities through patching and system hardening
- Optimize performance across Citrix and Windows Server environments
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices for provisioning and configuration
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules for scalable deployments
- Integrate automation into platform lifecycle management
- Define and maintain global standards, architecture patterns, and runbooks
- Create and update technical documentation reflecting current environments
- Ensure compliance with change control, audit, and risk frameworks
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Network, Cloud, and Endpoint teams
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Manage vendor relationships and support strategic platform enhancements
- Manage hardware, software, and cloud service lifecycles
- Ensure alignment with end-of-life and end-of-support requirements
- Strong experience with enterprise-scale Citrix environments, including:
- Citrix Cloud
- Delivery Controllers
- Virtual Delivery Agents (VDA / CVAD)
- Provisioning Services (PVS)
- Citrix Director
- NetScaler (Citrix Client)
- Hands-on experience with Citrix Cloud (control plane + hybrid deployments)
- Advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning (Citrix & Windows Server)
- Strong Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Good knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with load balancing, firewalls, and secure network design
- Familiarity with identity and security integrations (Active Directory, Entra ID, MFA)
- Knowledge of application packaging (MSI, App-V, etc.)
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services)
- Comfortable with structured change control and risk management processes
- Deep understanding of distributed and highly available systems
- Strong knowledge of modern Citrix architectures (cloud and hybrid)
- Solid grasp of cloud infrastructure and shared responsibility models
- Broad infrastructure expertise across compute, storage, networking, identity, and security
