Title: Senior Developer Level II
Location: India (Offshore)
Duration: 7 months
Note: Candidate will be paid in Indian Rupees (Monthly Salary)
Shift: PST (USA)

QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES:
DEVELOPER LEVEL II :

1. Establish and document the technical requirements for reporting software including tables, views, report design, unit test plans, and test cases.
2. Assist in all phases of the reporting software development cycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and production support.
3. Proficiently create and maintain complex SQL statements to generate tables and views that will be used by PowerBI developers to drive visualizations. Develop and enhance SQL-based tables and views as per user requirements.
4. Facilitate SQL design sessions and SQL code walk-throughs to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices using dbt.
5. Have at least 5 years of experience as a dbt developer, with a strong focus in Snowflake.
6. Knowledge of snowflake, git, pull requests, visual studio code, and dbt is strongly recommended.
7. Develop and maintain documentation on all database models, tables, guidelines, methods, and standards to ensure consistency and clarity.
8. Provide recommendations for further definition of development standards and application architecture based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
9. Conduct unit testing and assist in user testing of complex SQL statements or report modifications to ensure quality and functionality meet requirements.
10. Train other staff members on development processes and standards to ensure consistency across the team.
11. Design, implement solution using AWS for vendor inbound/outbound data transfer in LAUSD Data lake environment.
12. Design, implement data lake inbound/outbound solutions using cloud technologies Five Tran, AWS Glue, AWS (Transfer Family, Step Function, Event Bridge, lambda).
13. Other duties as assigned

SCOPE OF SERVICES
The District seeks resource(s) that will perform the required work closely with client's project team members and perform below responsibilities:

DEVELOPER (Level II): Offshore Resources (Development & Operations Level)
Focus: Execution, Transformation Logic, and Continuous Monitoring.

1. dbt Development , Data Transformation and Migration from Oracle to Snowflake

• Model Conversion: Rewrite legacy Oracle stored procedures and views into modular dbt models.
• Testing & Documentation: Implement dbt-tests (schema, unique, not_null) and maintain the schema.yml documentation for all migrated IODS tables.
• Refactoring: Optimize Oracle SQL to leverage Snowflake's micro-partitioning and clustering keys to reduce warehouse costs.

1. Migration Execution (ELT):

• Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor the extraction jobs to ensure data lands correctly in the staging area before dbt takes over.
• Data Validation: Run "Row Count " and "Checksum " comparisons between the Monolithic Oracle source and Snowflake target.
• Environment Management: Perform routine dbt runs (dbt run, dbt test) across Dev and QA environments to ensure code parity before Onsite UAT.
