Construction Project Manager
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to support complex EPC, construction management, and program management projects from pre-construction through project closeout and warranty phases. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience managing large-scale construction projects, subcontractors, field personnel, schedules, budgets, and client relationships across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support EPC Project Managers and Program Managers with overall project execution and field operations.
- Manage construction safety, quality, schedule, cost control, staffing, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, and client communications.
- Lead day-to-day construction activities for one or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and execution strategy development.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact for project-related matters.
- Participate in project risk reviews and collaborate with legal teams as needed.
- Negotiate prime contracts, subcontracts, CM contracts, and change orders.
- Implement and manage Project Execution Plans including:
- Construction execution plans
- Quality assurance plans
- Safety & Health plans
- Staffing plans
- Procurement plans
- Subcontracting plans
- Develop construction staffing plans and coordinate project resources across multiple disciplines.
- Oversee site mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Verify permits, licenses, insurance, bonding, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Lead subcontractor bidding, prequalification, evaluation, and award processes.
- Review and communicate project reports including:
- Budgeting
- Cash flow forecasts
- Progress reports
- Executive project updates
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with project schedules and construction requirements.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change management, claims mitigation, contract administration, and closeout documentation.
- Oversee invoicing processes for prime contracts, subcontractors, and client contractors.
- Coordinate commissioning and startup activities with clients and suppliers.
- Conduct project safety, quality, financial, and progress audits.
- Manage material receiving, inventory control, storage, and transportation processes.
- Review field reports and contract documents to ensure subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, and scheduling requirements.
- Direct turnover documentation, warranty administration, project closeout, and records retention processes.
- Support communication with governmental agencies, industry organizations, and public entities.
- Mentor assistant project managers, coordinators, interns, and field supervision staff.
- Manage labor relations, staffing, crew rates, craft classifications, and labor law compliance.
- Forecast labor productivity, earned value metrics, schedule performance, and construction equipment requirements.
- Promote workforce development, craft training, and advancement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Relevant industry experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, scheduling, cost control, and project execution.
- Experience managing large-scale construction or EPC projects preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Experience with project management, scheduling, cost control, and document management software preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, water, or industrial construction environments preferred.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
