Chief Building Engineer
Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
As aChief Engineerwith Stream, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assigning tasks to engineering teams; setting long and short-term project goals; negotiating with vendors and clients; ensuring that projects stay within time and budgetary restraints; compiling reports for assigned properties; and supporting the engineering team as needed to maintain standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the annual budget process.
- Develop specifications andassistinthesolicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contracts.
- Involvement, with some oversight, ofconstruction, tenant improvement, and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, OSHA safety requirements, and Stream Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop long-term strategic plans and forecasting for the property.
- Supervise, provide staff leadership, staff scheduling, counseling, training, and personnel development.
- Assistwith performing preventive maintenance and repairs on all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, including, but not limited to, pumps, chillers, boilers, air compressors, and air handling units.
- Recommend/implement improvements for the preventive maintenance program on an ongoing basis.
- Implement andparticipatein energy-saving, sustainability measures directed by Stream and/or clients.
- Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors with poise and diplomacy.
- Meet the shift working requirements of the assigned property; shifts may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Oversee / Assist with repairs during regular or after-hours, weekends, and some holidays as business needsdeemappropriate.
