Position Summary:The Applications Engineer provides technical and commercial support to the direct sales force in the areas of pump applications, proposal development, and order management. This role is responsible for performing detailed pump selections, reviewing complex specifications, preparing highquality proposals, providing technical guidance to customers, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring accurate and timely order processing.
This position may be located in Houston, Texas or Placentia, California.
Essential Responsibilities:- Review customer specifications and datasheets and prepare comprehensive, professional proposals.
- Utilize internal selection tools to determine optimal pump configurations, generate scope of supply, and process orders accurately.
- Provide technical guidance to Sales Engineers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to customer inquiries and support issue resolution with a high level of professionalism and accuracy.
- Obtain vendor quotations for auxiliary equipment and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between operations, engineering, and the customer to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
- Participate in customer and internal meetings to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
- Support Sales Engineers during customer visits, presentations, and technical discussions, as needed.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly present technical information.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., API, ANSI, Hydraulic Institute).
- Selfstarter who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Customerfocused mindset with professional responsiveness.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in rotating equipment is preferred, with a strong preference for direct experience in centrifugal pumps, pump packaging, or industrial fluidhandling systems.
- Experience with engineered to order products, proposal development, and specification review is preferred.
- Experience supporting sales teams or working in an applications engineering capacity is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering. Mechanical engineering preferred.
- Degrees or Certificates in other disciplines will be considered with relevant pump or rotating equipment experience.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.Equal Pay Act Range:Annual Salary Range is from $57,100 and $85,500 plus benefits & incentive plan.
