Role: Engineering Technician Photonics & Precision Assembly
Location: Chantilly, VA

Job Summary
Our client, a leading aerospace and defense technology organization, is seeking an Engineering Technician to support photonics integration, precision assembly, and testing operations within advanced defense programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection activities
• Support optical fiber splicing, recoating, and photonic circuit assembly
• Interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation
• Operate machining tools, test equipment, and laboratory systems
• Support calibration, maintenance, and quality assurance activities
• Maintain clean and organized laboratory and production workspaces

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Clearance
• Experience in lab, manufacturing, assembly, or technical workshop environments
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Experience with machining equipment, soldering, or precision assembly
• Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude

Preferred Skills

• Photonics or fiber optics experience
• Optical alignment and test experience
• DoD laboratory/workshop environment experience
• Wire bonding or photomasking familiarity
