We are seeking an experienced CONSTRUCTION MANAGER for a full-time position located in Austin, Texas.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee utility, roads and vertical construction projects across an airport campus. This role will support both new construction and renovation efforts, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all phases of vertical construction within concourse and terminal areas, ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate daily activities with contractors and a broad range of stakeholders, including the ABIA executive team, Airlines, Operations, and Environmental teams
  • Review and evaluate contractor schedules, monitor progress, and identify potential risks or delays
  • Support the change management process by assessing proposed changes and facilitating necessary approvals
  • Navigate and interpret design documents, technical specifications, and contract requirements with accuracy and confidence
  • Ensure construction activities meet minimum code requirements and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively across teams to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision-making and issue resolution
  • Provide field oversight and documentation, including daily inspection reports and tracking of deficiencies
  • Collaborate with inspectors and project managers to verify installed quantities and support pay application reviews
  • Be available for occasional night-time work as required by project schedules or operational needs
  • Assist APM, PM and CDPM in change management & scope development.
  • Attend Contractor Progress (OAC) meetings, punch walks, mockup reviews, etc.
  • Verifying the construction contractors' mobilization schedules including recommendations to APM for approval of contractual requirements before issuance of Notice to Proceed.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of the preparation, updating, and maintenance of the project schedule(s). This will include an overall schedule and/or individual schedules, as required, to track design review activities, procurement activities and construction activities.
  • Coordinate with the Program/Project Manager in collaboration with pre-construction and design teams to review plans & information related to constructability and all costs involved in developing the project's execution.
  • Reviewing and approving contractors' Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Logistics plan(s).
  • Supports the review and negotiations of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) field costs, equipment, and General Conditions (GCs).
  • Provides input to monthly pay-application reviews so the APM and CDPM can finalize the billing.
  • Review Daily Construction Reports prepared by COA construction coordinators and weekly work plans to achieve schedule compliance.
  • Supports the contract change order review process, including review of contractor estimates, negotiate change orders, and assist APM to obtain required approvals.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on vertical building projects.
  • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on or around airport terminals and improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental codes and regulatory requirements relevant to airport construction
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards, and ability to interpret design documents and contract specifications
  • Ability to coordinate with the Contractor, the ABIA executive team, Airlines, ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, and others.
  • Ability to successfully pass a TSA criminal background check
  • Valid Driver's License

Work Environment:
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
  • The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
Other Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
  • May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
