Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Systems Analyst for the MMIS team supporting operational activities and system enhancements.
- Act as a liaison between business programs and IT teams to translate user needs into technical requirements.
- Provide operational support for legacy MMIS and related subsystems.
- Develop, retrieve, analyze, and distribute reports and datasets to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and respond to business and vendor requests related to MMIS operations.
- Perform complex systems analysis, design, and testing activities for MMIS applications.
- Review and validate QA and User Acceptance testing results and document defects for resolution.
- Identify system issues, trends, and risks and escalate to program leadership when necessary.
- Coordinate with state agencies, vendors, healthcare providers, and federal stakeholders.
- Assist with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution using logs and job schedules.
- Provide technical and operational status reports to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, or Healthcare field
(3+ years of equivalent experience in systems analysis or system development may substitute for education) - 3+ years of Medicaid or healthcare industry experience
- Experience with Medicaid claims and provider operations
- Strong COBOL programming knowledge
- 3+ years experience with healthcare payer Mainframe systems
- 3+ years experience with EDI transactions
- Including management of EDI companion guides
- Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment systems
- Strong understanding of MMIS (Medicaid Management Information Systems) capabilities and processes
Preferred Skills
- Subject Matter Expertise in MMIS operations
- Experience with data analysis tools
- SAS
- Excel
- Data visualization tools
- Statistical analysis software
- Experience creating technical and operational status reports
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
