About the Role
The Lead Software Engineer will lead the integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products with ***'s technology infrastructure to support the Investigations organization. This role focuses on technical integration architecture, GraphQL API development, and ensuring seamless connectivity between external platforms and ***'s internal systems.
Key Responsibilities
GraphQL API Development: Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs to enable efficient data exchange between COTS platforms and *** systems
Integration Architecture: Architect scalable integration solutions that connect external products with ***'s internal databases, applications, and services
Systems Connectivity: Build and maintain middleware, integration layers, and data pipelines to ensure reliable system-to-system communication
Vendor Technical Collaboration: Work with COTS vendors on technical integration requirements, API specifications, and troubleshooting
Data Integration: Implement data mapping, transformation, and synchronization processes while maintaining data integrity and security standards
Technical Leadership: Mentor engineers on integration patterns, GraphQL best practices, and guide technical decisions for the investigations technology stack
Performance & Reliability: Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years focused on enterprise system integration
Strong expertise in GraphQL: schema design, query optimization, resolver implementation, and federation patterns
Proficiency in Java and Python
Experience with REST APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML), and API gateway technologies
Strong understanding of Oracle and SQL Server databases
Experience with AWS cloud services and containerization
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps principles
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GraphQL federation and implementing federated GraphQL architectures
Background integrating case management, analytics, or enterprise software platforms
Experience with message brokers and event-driven architectures
Understanding of security best practices for API integration in regulated environments
