Device Engineer
Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Device Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and lifecycle management of drug delivery devices, including prefilled syringes, with a focus on testing and analysis within a laboratory environment. This position requires strong experimental, analytical, and statistical skills to support technical operations and ensure the success of the combination product portfolio. The hybrid schedule will be 3-4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on experimental testing to support failure investigations and root cause analysis
- Develop, execute, and refine test procedures to evaluate device performance and functionality
- Analyze test data and apply statistical methods to derive actionable insights and recommendations
- Support design changes by leading testing efforts to assess and validate proposed modifications
- Participate in the scale-up, global launch, and continuous improvement of drug delivery devices
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure device quality and performance standards are met
- Generate and maintain design specifications, protocol and report writing, prototyping, and design of experiments/statistical process control product optimization
- Maintain robust design history files for mechanical and electro-mechanical delivery devices
Requirements:
- Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 6 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of experience
- Degree in the field of Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
- Experience in the medical device industry and/or a regulated work environment
- Strong laboratory testing experience, particularly with combination products and medical devices
- Solid foundation in experimental methods, data analysis, and statistical tools
- Experience in failure analysis and implementing design solutions
- Familiarity with regulatory and quality requirements, including Quality System Regulation (21CFR820) and Risk Management (ISO 14971)
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Pay range:up to $42.52 per hour
