Solution Train Engineer Active TS SCI + FSP
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Solution Train and Agile Release Train (ART) operations using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across one Solution Train and three ARTs.
- Collaborate with governance layer, stakeholders, RTEs, and leadership on program execution, work allocation, resourcing, and staffing needs.
- Monitor performance metrics, resolve impediments, drive relentless improvement, and implement solutions.
- Coordinate schedule execution and program-wide software/architecture releases.
- Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning, Solution Train planning events, pre/post-planning meetings, and Scrum of Scrums for cross-team collaboration.
- Track feature/capability execution through agile and DevOps metrics.
- Brief customers and stakeholders on PI progress, including testing, deployment, and release readiness.
- Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and leaders in agile practices; promote teamwork, agile maturity, Communities of Practice, and Built-In Quality.
- Assess skill gaps and provide resourcing input to address bottlenecks.
- 5+ years in large software development, systems integration, and test efforts.
- 7+ years leading teams or projects.
- Demonstrated experience as Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer (RTE), or Solution Train Engineer (STE).
- Proven SAFe application, including PI Planning.
- Experience with agile/DevOps tools (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Rally, IBM ELM).
- Technical aptitude to understand and communicate concepts to technical/non-technical audiences.
- Agile team experience managing deadlines (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner, Development Lead).
- Briefing experience for leadership, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments; excellent time management, issue triage, attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; flexibility and persistence.
- Bachelor's degree (technical field preferred) + 20+ years relevant experience.
- Prior STE on technical programs; Release/Project/Program Management.
- Multi-disciplinary team experience; software development lifecycle roles (developer, tester, analyst, product/project manager).
- SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe RTE).
- Test automation, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), test-driven development, continuous integration/deployment.
- DEVOPS best practices; robust dev/test/prod environments; team collaboration tools.
