Job Description: Hardware Designer
Location : Dallas, TX (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Hardware Designer / Hardware Design Engineer to design and develop high-performance electronic systems and boards for next-generation adaptive compute and communication platforms.
This role involves end-to-end hardware design, from schematic development to board bring-up, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.Key Responsibilities
1. System & Hardware Design
  • Design system architecture and hardware solutions for:
    • SoC / FPGA-based platforms
    • Embedded and high-performance compute systems
  • Develop schematics and select components (processors, memory, power, interfaces)
  • Define system-level requirements and specifications
2. Schematic Design & Component Selection
  • Create schematics using tools like:
    • Cadence OrCAD / Allegro, Mentor Graphics, Altium
  • Select and validate components:
    • CPUs/GPUs/FPGAs
    • DDR memory, PMICs, clocks, interfaces
  • Perform design calculations and simulations
3. High-Speed & Interface Design
  • Design for high-speed interfaces such as:
    • DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, MIPI
  • Define constraints for:
    • Signal integrity (SI)
    • Timing and routing
  • Collaborate with PCB layout teams for implementation
4. Power & Thermal Design
  • Define power architecture (VRMs, regulators, sequencing)
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Power integrity (PI)
    • Thermal requirements
  • Optimize for efficiency and reliability
5. Board Bring-up & Validation
  • Perform hardware bring-up and debugging
  • Validate designs using:
    • Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers
  • Troubleshoot:
    • Signal issues, power failures, boot problems
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
    • PCB layout, RF, and mechanical teams
    • Firmware/software teams for system bring-up
    • Manufacturing and testing teams
  • Participate in design reviews and product lifecycle support
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Communication Engineering
Experience
  • 412+ years in hardware/system design
Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Schematic design and system architecture
    • High-speed digital design fundamentals
  • Good understanding of:
    • SI/PI concepts and PCB design constraints
    • Power design basics (VRM, regulators)
  • Experience with tools:
    • Cadence OrCAD / Allegro, Altium, Mentor Graphics
  • Knowledge of:
    • Embedded systems and SoC/FPGA platforms
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in:
    • Adaptive compute / FPGA-based systems
  • Exposure to:
    • AI/ML, networking, or automotive platforms
  • Knowledge of:
    • EMI/EMC compliance and certification
    • Thermal and mechanical considerations
