Job Title: Electrical CAD Technician (Pipelines)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Electrical CAD Technician (Pipelines) to support engineering and design teams in the development of detailed electrical drawing packages for infrastructure projects. This role is instrumental in transforming engineering concepts into high-quality, constructible drawings by collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D electrical drawings, including:
  
  
  
  • One-line diagrams
  
  
  • Wiring diagrams
  
  
  • Conduit and cable routing plans
  
  
  • Grounding plans
  
  
  • Panel layouts and termination diagrams
  
  
  
  


• Develop instrument location plans, I/O layouts, and loop diagrams for instrumentation projects


• Work under the direction of engineers and designers to produce construction drawing packages aligned with client and company standards


• Apply and maintain adherence to established drafting standards, CAD layer controls, title blocks, and drawing conventions


• Incorporate redlines and support as-built drawing updates


• Assist with document control and drawing organization


• Participate in quality checks and internal drawing reviews


• Support development of plot plans, equipment layouts, and 3D markups as needed


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate drawing deliverables


• Contribute to CAD process improvements and drafting efficiencies


• Perform additional project support tasks as assigned


• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required


• Coursework in drafting, CAD technology, or a related field


• Minimum of 1 year of relevant drafting or CAD experience


• Note: Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program will not be considered for this role


• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software ( 2D experience required; must be clearly demonstrated on resume)


• Basic familiarity with 3D drafting tools is a plus


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, redlines, and markups


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


• Effective written and verbal communication skills


• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
