Software Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software Build and Release Engineer for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This part-time role is responsible for supporting automation, build release management, third-party certifications, and infrastructure tooling across multiple software environments. The position also supports troubleshooting, debugging, and maintaining build and deployment pipelines.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field
- 2+ years of experience with C++
- 2+ years of experience with Python
- Knowledge of systems and configuration management including Bash, XML, CMake, Make, and environment setup
- Experience supporting software builds, automation, or release processes
- Familiarity with containerization and build/release tooling
What Youll Do
- Support automation, conversion, and third-party certifications for each new build release
- Manage updates and certifications for each new driver release
- Manage and maintain software releases, containerization, JRA management, Nexus RPM repositories, and GitLab build pipelines and supporting tools
- Contribute to Tableau-based Aero SST O&M and IT projects
- Submit and manage security approval requests, including SIS forms for F35 and F22 programs, EFOSS requests, and Service Central software requests
- Support Labsys product builds, including automation, RPM conversion, and certification for each core release
- Maintain Labsys drivers and ensure certification compliance for updates
- Support SSEE release management, including containerization, Jira management, Nexus RPM management, and GitLab build/tooling support
- Manage SLES12 releases and assist with phasing out Conda
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across build, release, and tooling environments
Work Schedule / Shift
- Part-time: 24 hours per week (3 days per week, 8 hours per day)
- On-site 3 days per week, MondayThursday
- Hours between 8:00 AM3:00 PM EST (specific days flexible as long as requirements are met)
