Senior Technical Designer
NYC Alliance seeks a highly skilled Technical Designer with extensive experience working with Walmart to join our dynamic product development team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of fit, construction, and technical specifications across multiple categories, along with the ability to communicate clearly with factories, cross-functional partners, and retail technical teams. This role is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, fit consistency, and brand integrity from initial development through production. Responsibilities:
Develop technical packages for fit sample development in all categories
Evaluate fit samples, pre-production and TOP samples for specs, quality and workmanship
Participate in maintaining consistency of product fit, technical specifications and development processes across brands
Involved in fittings with designers and merchandisers on live models and body forms
Write up of fit comments to factory based on fitting providing technical comments and illustrations/photos
Maintain a product library for future reference
Correspond with factory and retailers technical staff on a daily basis to solve problems
Work with Production department on follow-up and timing of approval comments to meet delivery expectations
Act as a liaison between Design, Sales, Production, and Factory to ensure samples are made to correct specifications
Log into vendor websites to update and retrieve information
Plan appropriate fit schedules with models and designers
Update and maintain departments fit logs
Requirements
7+ years of experience in Men's /Woman's technical design
Knowledge in assembling a detailed technical package to communicate proper instructions to agents/factories for style development
Participated in fittings
Assigning easily understood points of measure
Ability to determine appropriate grade rules to all points of measure
Highly organized and experienced in all phases of technical design
Ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with a high sense of urgency
Proficiency with PLM is a Plus
