The internship position is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week throughout a 10-14-week assignment starting in May of 2020.

The Impact Youll Make in this Role

As a Healthcare Data Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Working with healthcare data to provide actionable solutions to client data requests
- Working within a team of data analysts to assist with the design and creation of data analyst requests using the Microstrategy BI platform, SQL queries, and Microsoft Excel
- Performs quality assurance tests on new and existing processes
- May participate in the design and planning of new features
- Keeps team members apprised of project status
- Performs other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for interns who must have the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree or higher from an accredited University
- Experience with SQL and/or Microsoft Products to include course work or previous internship experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Pursuing a degree in healthcare, data analytics, or data science.
- Experience with SQL and relational database concepts
- Experience with the Microstrategy BI tool or other similar data visualization products
- Experience using Excel to aggregate data and build reports
- Knowledge of object oriented programming with languages such as C#, Java, or C++ (******* using Visual Studio preferred)
- Strong time management skills and the initiative to resolve problems by communicating promptly and driving project forward is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in order to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups is required
- Must be a creative and original thinker
- Must have the ability to work effectively with close supervision
- The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, dependability, and a strong work ethic
