Lead Home Support Aide
SUMMARY: A Home Support Aide is a qualified individual who carries out social, personal and non-medical care tasks and who may also provide assistance with housekeeping and other related supportive tasks to a Resident in his/her place of residence. The aide may perform other tasks permissible under State scope of practice and regulatory guidelines. In addition to providing care to residents, the Lead Aide is a mentor of new and existing aides in the agency enhancing retention and job satisfaction.

Demonstrates leadership skills within the agency and performs at a high level

Demonstrates maturity

Able to understand and carry out directions and instructions and maintain simple records

Demonstrates a willingness to learn and a basic understanding of the needs of the Resident

Able to accept and use supervision
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age

Experience as a care provider serving the senior population is preferred
-
Experience as a Home Support/Home Health/Private Duty aide 2-3 years preferred

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indirect support of other aides on the assigned shift
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
-
Certified as a Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, Geriatric Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Aide, or as per State and Federal law and regulations

CPR certification - Maryland only
