Description

The VoIP engineer will perform fault analysis and trouble resolution on highly complex voice problems ranging from voice outages to voice degradations and feature anomalies. The engineer will work on various layers of the OSI model to application and must know numerous technologies including the following: DS0-DS3, ISDN, SS7, SIP Trunking, Routing, MPLS and IP Toll Free. The individual must know voice products such as HIPC, IPIA, IP Trunking, IPCC, IPIVR, NGSN, VILO, and ICR. The engineer must drive resolution to customer reported issues by using over 100 different systems, devices, and tools, to identify and resolve highly complex voice anomalies. Reading of SIP ladders is a must as is IP knowledge and VoIP methodology. Being able to isolate through SIP messaging and call detail record analysis and messaging logs is required. The engineer must be able to multitask, escalating to peer teams when applicable, join customer technical bridges, and drive Tier 3 supports teams when necessary.

The engineer must be highly motivated and continually learning new voice technology.
