Description
Responsible for Life Cycle Engineering of Data and VoIP Networks of a major Client in Public Sector. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Act as a Lead Network Consultant
- Conduct and support technical presentations as required
- Work with pre-sales technical resources to complete design documents required for provisioning and implementing network design and ensure overall high level network design meets mutually agreed upon requirements.
2. Provide Technical Design Support
- Assist Steady State Operation of existing sites
- Develop new site design and existing site upgrades.
- Research and recommend new network designs and technologies that would improve end user experience
- Design and support proof-of-concept applications that are network-dependent.
3. Conduct Network Planning Reviews
- Provide guidance and direction on overall network architecture and roadmap to best support the Customer's network in the future
- Host weekly meetings with Clients on site to review important topics that need immediate attention
- Proactively review & analyze Customer's network for service improvements
4. Provide network as-built documentation including high level design diagram and site-by-site network design documents consistent with major design changes to the network. Track end-of-sale and end-of-life products for Lifecycle Change Management and provide routine reports. Offer suggested replacement solutions based on most current needs.
5. Assist post-sale operations and implementation teams where needed.
6. Collaborate with Client with their Unified Communications and Telecom Teams with a specific focus in the following areas:
-Cisco CUCM
-Cisco HCS Platform
-Unity Connection
-Cisco CER
- Cisco CUBE
- Cisco Attendant Console - Standard version
- Cisco UCCE
- IP Trunking
- TDM Voice Network
- Cisco's collaboration applications: Jabber, Webex and CCA
- 3rd party applications such as Nuance and Singlewire
7. Participate in service Problem and Incident Management meetings regarding to:
- Voice network performance
- Recurring voice platform issue resolution
- Product lifecycle management
- Capacity planning
8. Collaborate with OEM's pre-sales planning and design resources to address IT voice architecture and network future plans, maximize voice platform services and value for end users, voice platform interoperability and compatibility
9. Collaborate with implementation and operations teams in the role of voice applications technical resource with strong familiarity of the Client's environment.
Qualification:
Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least one current Cisco's certification on VoIP Technology
- 5 + years' experience as a technical consultant in an IT/Telecom infrastructure environment or equivalent experience in a Client-facing or IT/Telecom staff role (including working as a member of a professional services or IT engineering team) for Cisco VoIP Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies and solutions.
- Experience presenting and delivering technical briefings to Clients .
- Ability to generate solution documentation for both internal stakeholders and clients in the form of diagrams, slides, documents, spreadsheets.
Preferred qualifications:
- Domain experience with the government customers (selling into or employee of)
- Technical knowledge of data center network architecture, SDN, and large-scale private cloud networks.
- Security, architecture, or other industry certification such as (CISSP, ITIL, TOGFA, CompTIA Network, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.)
- Design and experience in at least two of the following: Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, Internet, VPN, SDN and NFV); Network Operations (WLAN, LAN, WAN, IP PBX, Automation/Orchestration); Security (DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM, Analytics, Micro-segmentation); Call Center Technologies (ACD, IVR, Call Recording, Chat, Cloud Delivery, toll free, Omni-channel); IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services, Application Management, Storage, and Virtualization)
- Functional knowledge in leading technology network and security vendor portfolios such as Cisco, Versa, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Riverbed and Juniper
