Duties

Summary

The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal Careers while still in school and getting paid for the work performed.

This position is located at the Ute Mountain Ute Health Center, Towaoc, CO, within the Southern Colorado Ute Service Unit, and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Learn more about this agency

Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for using word processing software and printing equipment to draft and edit documents such as, memorandums, letters, reports, correspondence forms, etc. Incumbent prepares materials in draft for supervisor review.
Files materials such as letters, memorandums, incoming and signed documents, pertinent background information, and other materials associated with the office's operations.
Photocopies and/or scanning materials for mass mailings, internal distributions,filings, etc.
Receives visitors and answers the telephone, receives and relays messages in a pleasant, friendly, coherent manner. Incumbent responds to inquiries/issues of a routine nature.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Must pass pre-employment examination.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Security Clearance: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Fingerprint results and background investigation documentation must be cleared prior to hire. You will receive instructions on how to obtain and submit fingerprints and background investigation documentation. After you begin your employment, your continued employment is contingent upon the outcome of a complete background investigation as determined by the sensitivity level of your position. The investigation must find that you are suitable for Federal employment in your position. If you are found not suitable, you will be terminated after you begin work. If you make a false statement in any part of your application, you may not be hired; you may be fired after you begin work; or subject to possible criminal charges.
This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Upon tentative selection, selectee will be requested to complete, sign, and submit the Addendum to OF-306, Child Care & Indian Child Care Worker Position form. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.
Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957. Seasonal influenza immunization is required for civilian health care facility staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
Enrolled/accepted in an accredited educational institution.
Maintain enrollment at least half time as defined by the institution.
Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
You will be required to sign a Pathways Participant Agreement. You must meet the requirements of the job by 11:59 pm (Eastern Standard Time) of the closing date: 09/16/2019

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

GS-2 Level: High school diploma or equivalent

What are the eligibility requirements?

You must be a student accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program on at least a half-time basis and in good standing; enrollment must be with an accredited educational institution or state-approved home school including high schools, colleges, universities, technical trade, vocational or business schools.

You must be in good academic standing, maintaining a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale.
