As the Associate Research and Development Principal Scientist for Innovation, Technology, and Quality (ITQ) you will be responsible for leading key technical and innovation efforts and supporting initiatives across business units. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to use your deep technical knowledge and expertise to impact key products/brands and to develop, coach, and mentor others.
The right candidate for this role will leverage total product offering knowledge and strong strategic and influencing skills, allowing them to steer direction of the project/product. The projects you manage in this role will provide you with leadership in extremely complex projects, the ability to advance science, and push boundaries internally and externally in your area of expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead innovation initiatives for the business unit supporting the brand platform
- Lead technical efforts; supervise and coach technicians and young scientists
- Work closely with suppliers on innovation and Holistic Margin Management (HMM) initiatives to drive growth for the business
- Work collaboratively across business units, and functions supporting key technical initiatives to drive results, ideas, and learnings
- Manage both short term and long term research initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related field
- Minimum 6 years of related experience required; 10+ years preferred
- Strong product development experience
- Technical excellence and fundamental scientific understanding
- High bias for action and ability to advance projects with speed and accuracy
- High degree of autonomy with willingness to collaborate
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast changing priorities
- Solid problem-solving skills
