SUPERVISOR OFCODING AND CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION IMPROVEMENTopportunity at a teaching hospital system in upstate New York.
OVERVIEW: Contribute to the flow within the HIM Department by assuring each inpatient record is optimally coded, attested to, billed and paid with the proper DRG/APC. Oversee clinical documentation improvement, working with physicians, care management and nursing. Customers served include HIM Department, Finance, Physicians, and Third Party Payors, Quality Management, Nursing, Reservation/Registration, Regulatory Agencies, Information Services etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM: Associates Degree, RHIT certification, 3 years of coding experience, and working knowledge of DRGs, APCs, hospital coding, information systems.
PREFERRED: Bachelors Degree, RHIA certification, supervisory experience, 3 years of inpatient coding experience, experience with regulatory agencies and third party payers and EMR experience.
