Writing the Perfect Christmas Resume

There’s no shying away from the fact that it takes time to craft an impressive Christmas resume, and even though you might be applying for a temporary role this Christmas, you’ll still need to set some time aside to ensure your resume has the wow factor.

Don’t panic though! We’ve got some tinsel tips right here to help you create the perfect Christmas resume with all the jingle bells and whistles.

1. Ensure Sentences are Concise

Wordy sentences and lengthy paragraphs in your resume are a no-go when trying to impress busy recruiters. Bullet points are your new best friend!

2. Check, Proof-read, Re-check, Then Check Again

Have we said ‘check’ enough yet? Spelling and grammar mistakes do not create a good impression for any employer recruiting for Christmas work. You can’t just rely on spell check! Make sure you read your resume out loud with a red pen in hand.

3. Make Sure All Contact Details are Present and Correct

There’s nothing worse than finding out you were the perfect person for that Christmas vacancy but there was no way the employer could contact you… An email address and phone number will do the trick!

4. Keep Your Resume to Two Pages Maximum

Employers don’t want to receive essays about your personal life in your application for a Christmas job. They simply want to know about your skills and abilities that will help you ace the job you’re applying for, so clean and concise is the key.

5. Ensure Your Resume is Focused

There’s little point sending a retail recruiter a resume that highlights all your childcare experience! Make sure you keep your resume tailored to the job description.
